As Deal Desk Manager (Commercial & Contracting), you will own the commercial contracting and deal governance layer of Postscript’s go-to-market motion. This role blends deal desk leadership with hands-on contract review, negotiation support, and risk management—designed to scale high-volume deal flow without creating legal bottlenecks.
Reporting to the Director of FP&A, you will partner closely with Sales, Finance, Legal, and RevOps to ensure customer agreements are structured, negotiated, approved, and executed with speed, consistency, and appropriate risk discipline. This role replaces a traditional Associate Commercial Counsel model with a more flexible, business-embedded operator who can move quickly, apply sound judgment, and escalate selectively.
What You’ll Do
-
Own commercial deal review across new business, expansions, and renewals, with a focus on contract terms, pricing structure, risk, and execution quality
-
Review, negotiate, and approve customer-facing agreements, including order forms, SOWs, MSAs, NDAs, and non-standard commercial terms
-
Serve as the primary contract and deal escalation point for Sales, balancing commercial objectives with company risk tolerance and internal policy
-
Partner with Legal to define escalation thresholds and collaborate on truly novel or high-risk contractual issues
-
Provide practical, real-time guidance to Sales on commonly negotiated terms, redlines, and trade-offs to reduce negotiation cycles
-
Own and continuously improve contract playbooks, fallback positions, and standard clause guidance to enable faster deal closure
-
Enforce and evolve deal approval frameworks for non-standard pricing, terms, and concessions
-
Ensure clean handoff from contract execution to booking by partnering closely with Deal Desk Ops and Finance
-
Identify recurring contract and deal risks and drive structural fixes through templates, playbooks, and process improvements
-
Manage and develop the Deal Desk team, setting clear quality and execution standards across deal review and contracting
What We’re Looking For
-
6+ years of experience in commercial contracting, deal desk, legal operations, revenue operations, or a related role within a high-growth technology company
-
Background as a paralegal, legal operations manager, contracts manager, or non-practicing lawyer strongly preferred
-
Deep familiarity with customer contracting, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and common commercial negotiation patterns
-
Strong commercial judgment with the ability to assess risk and recommend pragmatic mitigation strategies
-
Proven experience supporting high-volume sales motions without becoming a bottleneck
-
Ability to partner effectively with Legal while independently handling the majority of standard and moderately non-standard deals
-
Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills, especially when engaging Sales and Finance stakeholders
-
Comfort operating in ambiguity and evolving processes as the business scales
-
Experience with Salesforce and contract lifecycle management tools (e.g., SpotDraft) preferred
